When Panasonic decided to tell us that this camera was in production they gave us this artists impression which we all laughed at…laughing no more this impression has become a reality and with only days till we get the first shipment…everyone but everyone want’s an AF101.

It wasn’t till I went to IBC in Amsterdam that I got my first look at the AF101. The Panasonic stand was buzzing and DPs from all over Europe were playing with the 101 which was a 70% finished production model.

Barry Green from DVX USER was on the stand waxing lyrical about the camcorder along with Jan Crittenden Livingston (Panasonic USA).

Jan was a very knowledgeable person and knew her subject, it was Jan who confirmed that the AF101 would indeed take Nikon and Canon lenses with special adapters.

The other nugget of advice was the LCD screen was a prototype and was due to be changed for a better quality LCD in the production model.
